I have a pair of these arm warmers in green and I can't get enough of them. Besides being a stranger stopping piece of eye candy they are super comfy and warm. I mentioned a few weeks back that I was given the opportunity to try out Whitening Listerine strips and I had promised to post a week later to let you know what I thought... Whoops! A few weeks have gone already and I nearly forgot to follow-up but here I am, better late than never.
I give the Whitening Listerine strips two thumbs up. Would I recommend them? Sure! Would I use them again myself? Probably not. If I didn't have caps then yes I would use them but since I do I can only apply them on my bottom teeth and those guys are never visible. That being said if I ever have replacement caps put on my top chompers I will definitely consider the strips to brighten my bottom teeth.

A few weeks ago a woman left a comment on my blog asking if I would be interested in testing a health/beauty product. I checked out Matchstick, the Canadian company she works for, online and then emailed her to find out more. The founder of Matchstick is brilliant if you ask me, it's basically a word of mouth marketing company - before I write any more I should let you know that I am not being paid or offered any other incentive to say this - they initiate consumer to consumer marketing by offering product trials to average Joes (Jaimes in my case). It's a simple idea that makes a whole lot of sense. I purchase new things based on the opinions expressed by friends, family, co-worker and other bloggers way more often than I do based off of a TV commercial or magazine advertisement.
Basically I spoke to the lovely Adrienne (a Matchstick employee) and answered a bunch of survey questions. Based on my answers she determined that I would be an appropriate candidate for the Whitening Listerine product trial. All I have to do is use Whitening Listerine quick dissolving strips twice a day for two weeks and let people know what I think. Matchstick mailed me a box of strips (boxed in a really cute tin as I'm sure you can see in the pic above) so it's costing me nothing to take part in this, they also sent me a pile of free trial strips to give out to friends. Finally I will be posting a link so that all of you can get your own free trials as soon as I receive the email with the link.
Here's what came in the tin Matchstick sent meTaking a bath is one of my all-time favourite things to do. I don't have them as often as I should - before anyone makes a smart ass remark I should clarify, I do shower on a daily basis, I just don't make the time to soak in a relaxing bath as often as I would like to - the perfect bath includes candles, a cup of hot chocolate (or glass of wine), a book and some fabulous bubble bath or a bath bomb fizzing around me.
My girlfriend Cara sent me some of her fav bath melts, bombs and bar soap from LUSH this past Christmas. One word: WOW. I've used some LUSH products in the past (again, thanks to Cara) but never really understood her obsession with the company until I tried their bath products. Unbelievable!
What I didn't realize was that I could (and should) have chopped the melt & bomb in half or even thirds to make them last a few baths each. Instead I dropped the whole damn thing in and cried when my bath time came to an end because the bomb was gone. A simple solution would be to go to LUSH and purchase more, unfortunately the closest LUSH is in Toronto so my next brush with LUSH will have to wait until I head to T-dot for a shopping weekend this spring/summer.
I'm still mourning the loss of my LUSH so to soothe myself I figured I could check out Etsy and see if there are any fabulous looking bombs on there. Sure enough I found a pile of products that look good enough to eat and the shipping is less than LUSH charges. I wonder if they're as good though, maybe I'll just have to order some and find out for myself.

My favorite accessory this year is a beautiful handmade scarf that I received for Christmas. Don't you love it?! It's made of the most beautiful wool and the colour is fab. On occasion I come across things online that make my insides light up; other times I read/see something that would cause liquid to shoot out of my nose if I had happened to take a sip of something just before viewing it... and almost always I think to myself 'I should post that', and then I don't. Today's post over at Dooce is one of the funniest I've read. I dare you to make it through this one without cracking a smile or letting out a giggle... maybe even a snort.
I am presently working with youth and therefore should not find humor in the following video but this kid is so utterly ridiculous he's funny. The last bit where he goes on about his glasses being famous made me laugh pretty hard. I thought the entire thing was a joke but it's not, this really happened and this kid is serious, as serious as he can be looking the way he does. The media has done a fabulous job of making this kid and his sunglasses more famous than he could have ever imagined. Ridiculous but quite funny. My girlfriend Cara sends me the strangest cards imaginable, so strange I won't even post them because it's likely you would be disturbed and wonder whether there is something terribly wrong with her there's not, she's just odd. I'm thinking I'll snag a few of these cards to send her way with the hope of brightening her day every now and then. Oh how I love my twisted friends.
